Services, Rates and things to look for in a designer/developer.
Finding a Designer/Developer for your site can be very time consuming. I have been designing
and developing websites for 8 years. There are many variables to think about when setting up
a new site or re-vamping an existing site. I'm here to take all those headaches away. I
may be expensive but, if you want the job done right the first time you don't want the
inexperienced to handle your project.
I'm sure you have been left high and dry a couple of times... this makes you look
bad and it doesn't say much for the designers credibility. There are many questions
to ask when first starting off. Here are some key points to remember, these are the
points that should always be kept in mind when any designer takes on a project.
HOW MUCH?
- Cost (range from $1,000 to $15,000+ coming from a professional/agency & launch date)
DEVELOPMENT.
- Useability (making the site easy to navigate, user friendly)
- Meta Tags (description of your site using key words & phrases)
- Search Engine compatible (this relates highly with the Meta Tags)
- Doorway Pages (used on search engines to drive traffic to your site)
- Alt Tags (descriptions used with pictures - relates to search engines, older browsers
and the viewing impaired)
- HTML Programing (can the designer code? - Dreamweaver is one of the programs mostly
used Like other similar programs they leave extra code making the pages load slower)
- Graphic & Page Size (keep them small, there are still people using 56k modems)
MARKETING.
- Branding (company identity on business cards, newspaper ads, magazine ads)
- Marketing (search engines, banners, cd-roms, mail lists, per click adverts)
- Ad design (used in print & web ads)
- Banner design (used for the marketing campaign)
E-COMMERCE.
- Shopping cart (products online using merchant account or online services)
BELLS & WHISTLES.
- Flash- Motion Graphics (over used but, something to keep in mind)
- Cd-Rom compatible (making site/project ready for Cd-Rom on multi-platforms)
These are the main points to be aware of even if you decide not to use my services,
it's a good roadmap to use. You can spend hours talking about the mechanics of some
of them as they go very deep into detail.
